"Ahhhh the instruments on the new CD, "Anchors" by Nervous But Excited are organic and rich like good soil. The arrangements are layered in a way, which makes me want to listen and hear it grow.
The songs are honest and dimensional. It's music to my ears."

~185 word bio:

Pleasantly Aggressive Folk Duo Nervous but Excited (Kate Peterson & Sarah Cleaver) is dead-on harmony: two songwriters, two singers, three guitars, a mandolin, a violin, a few harmonicas, some vaguely choreographed dancing and a lot of laughter. Their original repertoire ranges in topic from smart, introspective narratives to the tactfully political… and they still dabble a bit in the love/post-love variety every now and then.

In April 2009 they released Anchors: the first 100% carbon neutral CD release.

On Anchors, Kate and Sarah’s unique vocal harmonies are enhanced by many talented players including Girlyman, Lyndell Montgomery and Chris Bathgate among others who joined them to color in the lines of the songs with a sweet-tasting assortment of warming-your-feet-by-the-fire-in-the-wintertime kind of instrumentation.

Since 2004, nbe has toured consistently and released 3 full-length albums and 3 EPs. They have played many established rooms and with artists such as Catie Curtis, Lucy Kaplansky, Utah Phillips, Melissa Ferrick, Ferron, Toshi Reagon, Cheryl Wheeler, The Butchies, Alix Olson, Bitch, Girlyman, Pamela Means, Chris Pureka and Ember Swift. They are represented by Riot Grrrl Ink and distributed nationwide by Goldenrod Music.

short blurb:

This pleasantly aggressive folk duo is 2 songwriters, 2 singers, 3 guitars, a mandolin, a violin, a harmonica, loads of harmony and some vaguely choreographed dancing.

-Kiya Heartwood, Wishing Chair

"Kate and Sarah's blend of fluid vocals and real-life lyrics are so compelling that I couldn't stop listening. The first time I heard them, they stopped my heart."

- Chicago Free Press

"These two singer/songwriters have something to say that audiences want to hear... and they deliver their heartfelt messages with an irresistible musical flair that moves people to the core. Their aggressive acoustic style and honest, thought-provoking lyrics have been winning over crowds throughout the country. Together, their harmony is powerful and uniquely beautiful. Sarah and Kate left our audience on their feet and begging for more."

- Cheryl VanDeKerkhove, Producer

"Most of us have soundtracks to our lives.  Those songs that remind us; that speak for us when we don't have the words; that symbolize a moment, an experience, a feeling.  Kate & Sarah are the type of artists that write those songs.  To watch them perform is to experience music for what it is -- Pain, Love, Joy, Sorrow, Understanding, Truth given a voice."

--Shalynn (dedicated nbe fan)

About Once More... With Feeling:

...a musical deep sigh if ever there was one...   - FAME/Acoustic Music.com {read the review}

"...how I feel about the whole thing - so real. This music comes from such an honest, beautiful place. Their voices sound beautiful together and the production is great - sparse and lush at the same time. I love how their voices can be soft yet retain their strength. Just beautiful. "

- Natalia Zukerman, Singer Songwriter

"Your cd makes me want to call old friends." - Hannah Hawkins
